Join us for a peaceful evening of light and storytelling as we celebrate Hanukkah with a lantern walk through the farm. For many years COSS has quietly supported the group that brings this wonderful program to the community. We helped with power cleanup, installing lights moving picnic tables, making sure the portapotty was ready, and guiding parking.
This year, with the reduction of winter activities, some of these needs will change. The town will be stepping in where needed. The roads at Sunny Meadow are no longer plowed. For this event only, the town will bring in a portapotty and it will be removed after the program. The clearing of the event area around Garden B and the small walking loop near it will now be done by the DPW crew the day before the event. As this is a family program, we know the trail must be as it has always been, free of ice for both young and older users.
To clarify, this is not a walk through the entire farm. It is only in the event area around Garden B. The Story Book Trail and interior farm roads will not be cleared for this event on December 14.
COSS will continue to be an important part of the evening. We simply will not be the group clearing the walkways this time. We are delighted that this tradition continues and that families can again come together to learn, share stories, and enjoy the light of the season. It is a fantastic event and something I truly look forward to every year.
